Thuparamaya Dagoba

  Thuparamaya     Thuparamaya is the first dagoba in Sri Lanka. On the 2026 years ago King Devanampiyathissa built the Thuparama dagoba. Thuparamaya dagoba located in Anuradhapura District in Northern central province in Sri Lanka. Thuparamaya belongs to Anuradhapura era.                                 Pillar of Thuparamaya dagoba The diameter of the Thuparamaya is  approximately 64 1/2 feet. King Wasabha built a  vatadage for Thuparamaya. But now only vatadage's  some pillars reaming. Thuparamaya dagoba has been built in the shape of a bell. This dagoba was destroyed from time to time. Mask                                Ambalangoda town and Udupila town are the most popular to masks. Masks are main part of Sri Lanka's culture. Mask are use for Thovil and Bali. The craftsmen are use "Diya kaduru"wood and "Rukaththana" wood for made masks. Now we learn how to make a mask step by step. The first step is cut the tree stems and peel them. It is known as "Gana kapeema".  Then mark the style of the mask in the peeled wood and cut it. The second step is dry the mask in sun-rice. It is known as "Kiri hidaveema". Then mark the eye, nonce and mouth on the mask. It is known as"Lakunu kapeema". Then color it. The Sigiriya

Sigiriya     Sigiriya is in Sri Lanka in Matale . Sigiriya is very impotent place for Sri Lanka . Sigiriya is nearly 180m high. Sigiriya is built by King Kashyapa in 477-495. He chose this place for his palace. The Sigiriya rock's walls are decorated by beautiful art. In 1907, John Steele wrote, "The whole face of the mountain looks like a huge picture gallery ... probably the largest picture in the world." The paintings covered most of the western face of the rock and were 140 meters long and 40 meters high. On 14 October 1967, an incident of vandalism took place where paint was splashed on the frescoes.  This palace has a very important door. You can see that door in below picture;
